Why anyone pays for this

The code is the address. The destination is yours to move.

A QR code on a printed thing is a promise you made months ago. A dynamic code lets you keep that promise when the plan changes.

After the print run

Change the link once the poster is on the wall

The campaign URL moved, the menu became a PDF, the booking system changed. Point the same code somewhere else and every future scan follows it. Nothing gets reprinted.

Evidence

Know how many people actually scanned

Scans by day, by city, by device, by code. Enough to tell a table tent that works from five thousand flyers that nobody picked up.

One code, many campaigns

Stop printing a new code every season

The same code carries the spring menu, the summer one and the holiday one. The code is the address; the destination is yours to move.

Our policy

Static codes never expire. Dynamic codes work while you have a plan.

A static QR code carries its destination inside the pattern itself. There is no redirect, no server, nothing anyone can switch off - so the ones you make here are yours forever, free, with no account and no expiry date. If what you need is a code that outlives us, make it static and print it.

A dynamic code is different: it points at a redirect we run on your behalf every time somebody scans it, which is what lets you change the destination after printing. That runs while you have a plan. Cancel and it keeps working for 30 more days, we email you before anything changes, and nothing is ever deleted - your codes, links and scan history all wait for you.

What lasts, and for how long

  • ForeverStatic codes, free, no account
  • On a planEditable destinations and scan analytics
  • 30 daysDynamic codes keep working after you cancel
  • KeptCodes and history, so paying restores everything
  • StoppedCodes used for abuse

Abuse is the one thing we stop immediately and without a grace period - phishing, malware, fraud, impersonation and the rest of the acceptable use policy.

Static or dynamic

Most people need one of each: a static Wi-Fi card that never changes, and a dynamic code on anything expensive to reprint.

Questions

Before you print anything

Do I need an account to download a QR code?
No. Static codes download as PNG or SVG with no account, no email address and no payment. The code is generated in your browser.
Do the free codes expire?
No. A static code has the destination printed into the image itself, so it keeps working for as long as that destination does. We are not involved in the scan at all.
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic code?
A static code encodes your link directly, so changing the link means reprinting. A dynamic code encodes a short link we host, so you can point it somewhere new at any time and every future scan follows.
What happens to my codes if I cancel?
They keep redirecting to their last saved destination. Editing and analytics pause until you reactivate, but the printed code does not stop working. The only exception is a code used for abuse, which we disable.
Is there a scan limit?
No. Scans are unlimited on every paid plan, and we do not charge per scan or throttle a code that suddenly does well.
What do you record about the people who scan?
Date, coarse location, device type and referrer. We never store a raw IP address: uniqueness is derived from a salted hash that rotates daily, so the same visitor is countable within a day and uncorrelatable across days.
